Newly posted to rural Uttar Pradesh, IPS officer Ayan Ranjan confronts a caste order he barely understands when three Dalit girls disappear and two are found dead. Ayushmann Khurrana is Ayan, a bookish outsider whose investigation collides with local power, evasions inside the force, and everyday discrimination treated as routine. Around him, men played by Manoj Pahwa and Kumud Mishra embody the bureaucracy and social hierarchy closing ranks around the case. As Ayan searches for the missing third girl, the film ties a murder inquiry to the larger machinery of caste, law, and impunity.
