No Way Out
CrimeDramaThriller106 min
At a city hospital, Dr. Luther Brooks is a young Black physician treating two white criminal brothers with gunshot wounds when one of them dies under his care. Sidney Poitier is Brooks, suddenly facing an accusation of murder from the surviving brother. Richard Widmark’s Ray Biddle refuses to let the case stay inside the ward, turning his racism and grief into a wider public flashpoint. As the pressure closes in from the hospital, the police, and the surrounding neighborhood, Brooks is forced to defend both his professional judgment and his place in a city ready to turn on him.
