The Square
ComedyDrama151 min
At a prestigious contemporary art museum in Stockholm, chief curator Christian is juggling a controversial new installation, a museum PR campaign veering off course, and a personal crisis after a theft unsettles his sense of control. Claes Bang's Christian is the polished public face of an exhibit built around altruism and civic trust, even as his own decisions grow more impulsive and damaging. As the museum prepares to unveil “The Square,” an encounter with journalist Anne (Elisabeth Moss) and a string of public embarrassments pull questions of status, shame, and responsibility out of the gallery and into Christian’s daily life.
