When his girlfriend leaves him for refusing to act his age, 32-year-old law school grad Sonny Koufax adopts a five-year-old boy in a clumsy bid to look like an adult. Adam Sandler is Sonny, a New York bachelor suddenly dealing with the day-to-day demands of fatherhood, while Cole and Dylan Sprouse share Julian, the kid at the center of the mess. Joey Lauren Adams and Jon Stewart round out Sonny’s orbit as his impulsive attempt to prove he’s responsible creates a very different kind of family life than he expected.
