Hallie Parker and Annie James meet at summer camp as strangers and discover they’re identical twins, separated when their parents divorced. Lindsay Lohan takes the double role, giving Hallie a California confidence and Annie a more proper London edge as the girls compare lives and come up with a risky switch. Their plan sends each sister into the other’s home, where Dennis Quaid’s father and Natasha Richardson’s mother have no idea they’re suddenly living with the other daughter. What starts as a camp rivalry turns into an elaborate effort to put one family back under the same roof.
