ActionAdventureDramaWarWestern104 min

In 1870 New Zealand, a Māori warrior who has fought for the British turns to utu, or revenge, after betrayal leaves him at war with the colonials he once served. His campaign pulls in Williamson, a settler bent on reprisal after an attack on his homestead, while the British officer Wiremu insists resistance is doomed. Anzac Wallace leads the story’s central pursuit, with Bruno Lawrence and Wi Kuki Kaa among the figures caught in the spreading retaliation. Framed by the New Zealand Wars and the fight over treaty land, the film follows how one act of violence keeps widening into another.
