Renée Zellweger is Beatrix Potter, the author and illustrator behind Peter Rabbit, as her private drawings begin to open a path toward publication, independence, and an unexpected romance. Ewan McGregor appears as Norman Warne, the publisher who becomes both a creative ally and a central figure in her life, while Emily Watson is his sister, Millie. Moving between London society and the Lake District that shaped Potter’s imagination, the film mixes live action with animated glimpses of the animals from her stories as it traces her early success and the personal choices around it.
