Saint Young Men: The Movie
AnimationAnimeComedy90 min
Jesus Christ and Gautama Buddha are on vacation from heaven and sharing a small apartment in Tokyo, where everyday errands and roommate habits become the basis for the comedy. As they try to keep their identities quiet, the film turns shopping trips, neighborhood encounters, and ordinary domestic routines into jokes about Christian and Buddhist iconography colliding with modern Japanese life. Gen Hoshino and Mirai Moriyama lead the voice cast in an animated adaptation that keeps its focus on the pair’s odd-couple dynamic and the challenge of two revered figures passing as regular tenants.
