In the Shadow Mountains in 1983, Red Miller and artist Mandy Bloom live in seclusion until a cult led by Jeremiah Sand (Linus Roache) destroys their home and shatters their life together. Nicolas Cage is Red, a taciturn lumberjack pushed into a violent hunt through the Pacific Northwest, where drug-fueled bikers and supernatural visions turn revenge into something stranger. Andrea Riseborough's Mandy remains the film's eerie center as the story shifts from intimate backwoods grief into a flood of blood, fire, animated detours, heavy-metal imagery, and chainsaw violence.
