Istoriya odnogo naznacheniya
Drama112 min
In a Russian infantry regiment in the Tula region, a soldier’s offence sets off a military tribunal and the threat of execution. The young lieutenant Grigory Kolokoltsev, committed to progressive ideas, believes the accused man is innocent and turns to Count Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy for help. Aleksey Smirnov and Irina Gorbacheva are among the central figures in a story drawn from real events, as questions of rank, duty, and conscience move from the barracks to the courtroom. Tolstoy’s involvement brings a larger moral and social weight to a case shaped by military discipline and class.
