Welcome to the Sticks
ComedyDramaRomance106 min
After a botched attempt to secure a Riviera transfer for his unhappy wife, post office administrator Philippe Abrams is sent instead from Provence to Bergues, a town in far northern France he has been taught to dread. Kad Merad is Philippe, arriving with a head full of prejudice about the cold, the dialect, and the people he expects to find there. Back in the South, Zoé Félix's Julie stays behind, turning the punishment into a strain on their marriage as Philippe tries to make sense of his new posting. Dany Boon’s film builds its comedy around regional stereotypes, culture clash, and the gap between rumor and daily life.
