The Egg and I

ComedyRomance108 min

A city woman marries a farmer and follows him to a rundown chicken ranch, expecting a rustic fresh start and finding mud, broken-down equipment, and more work than romance. As she tries to make a home in the middle of nowhere, every part of country life seems to fight back, from the endless chores to the unreliable flock that is supposed to make the farm pay. Her husband keeps pushing ahead with optimism while she grows more isolated and frustrated. Claudette Colbert and Fred MacMurray lead a marriage comedy built around culture clash, money trouble, and the strain of turning a shaky farm into a life together.
