Mystery Science Theater 3000
ComedySci-Fi92 min per episode
A stranded spaceship pilot is captured by mad scientists and forced to endure a barrage of cheesy B movies, surviving by riffing on them with his wisecracking robot pals. Joel Hodgson is one of the show’s human anchors, with Michael J. Nelson another voice in the theater as the commentary flies at everything on screen. The comedy comes from the collision of bargain-basement sci-fi, bad dialogue, and the ongoing standoff between captive, robots, and the scientists running the experiment.
