The Gift
DramaFantasyHorrorMysteryThriller112 min
Annie Wilson is a young widow in a small Southern town, supporting her three children by reading cards and foretelling her neighbors’ futures. Cate Blanchett is Annie, whose visions turn darker when a local woman disappears and a client’s violent husband begins threatening her. As the sheriff starts looking to Annie for answers, she’s pulled deeper into a web of rumor, fear, and suspicion that reaches across the whole community. Keanu Reeves appears as the missing woman’s volatile husband, one of several locals circling the case. Sam Raimi frames the mystery with dream imagery, backwoods atmosphere, and Annie’s uneasy place between healer, witness, and suspect.
