Held in an L.A. interrogation room after a deadly explosion at San Pedro harbor, Kevin Spacey is Roger “Verbal” Kint, a low-level con man trying to convince a U.S. Customs agent (Chazz Palminteri) that a nearly mythical crime lord named Keyser Soze pulled him and four other criminals into a multimillion-dollar heist. As Verbal retells the job in flashback, the story widens to the crew around him, with Gabriel Byrne and Benicio Del Toro among the men caught in Soze’s orbit. His account keeps circling back to the massacre on a cargo ship and the question of who was really in charge.
