The Passion of Anna
Drama101 min
On a remote island, a man living in near isolation begins spending time with a married couple and with Anna, a woman carrying fresh grief and a fierce need to be understood. What starts as a fragile connection turns into an uneasy tangle of confession, desire, and dependence, as each meeting exposes more damage beneath the surface. The relationships offer comfort, but they also sharpen jealousy, cruelty, and mistrust. Max von Sydow and Liv Ullmann move through a story where loneliness keeps pulling people together even as their wounds make intimacy harder to bear. Directed by Ingmar Bergman, the film stays fixed on how grief and self-deception distort love.
