Savage State
DramaWestern121 min
In Missouri in December 1863, a prosperous French perfume merchant decides to get his family out before the American Civil War reaches their doorstep. Leaving Saint Charles County behind, the settlers plan a return to Paris, traveling under the protection of a former mercenary whose past soon follows them onto the road. Alice Isaaz and Déborah François are among the family members pulled into the escape, as home, money, and survival all become harder to separate. The story unfolds as a French-language frontier drama, with wagon routes, armed escorts, and a household trying to stay intact while the country around them breaks apart.
