Taking Woodstock

ComedyDrama120 min

Demetri Martin is Elliot Tiber, dividing his time between Greenwich Village and his parents’ fading Catskills motel in the summer of 1969. When a nearby town pulls the permit for a hippie music festival, Elliot calls the organizers, hoping to bring some business to the El Monaco. Instead, the event shifts to Max Yasgur’s farm in White Lake, and Elliot, along with his parents (Imelda Staunton and Henry Goodman), gets pulled into the logistical chaos around Woodstock’s arrival. Ang Lee follows the festival from Elliot’s side of the story, where family strain, small-town friction, and a historic gathering all collide.
