A teenage Black boy is struck by a car in Jersey City, and the driver is a white police officer who panics instead of reporting what happened. As the boy fights for his life, fellow officers move to protect one of their own, turning a hit-and-run into a cover-up that spreads from the street to the precinct and into the courts. The boy’s family is left searching for answers while an assistant prosecutor, played by Clare-Hope Ashitey, tries to build a case through missing evidence, fearful witnesses, and a department closing ranks. Regina King plays the boy’s mother, whose grief and anger keep pressure on a system built to outlast scandal.
