Helen Harris is a Manhattan fashion-agency assistant whose late nights and polished routine vanish when she suddenly becomes responsible for her sister’s three children. As she tries to hold onto her old life in New York, John Corbett enters the picture as a pastor who becomes part of her already complicated new orbit. Joan Cusack is also on hand as family tensions rise around what kind of home the kids need and whether Helen can become the person they depend on.
