The Trip
ComedyDrama112 min
Steve Coogan is commissioned by The Observer to tour some of northern England’s top restaurants, expecting a working getaway with his girlfriend until she backs out and leaves him to invite Rob Brydon instead. As fictionalized versions of themselves, Coogan and Brydon eat their way through the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, turning each stop into a round of needling conversation, one-upmanship, and dead-on celebrity impressions. Between elegant meals and long drives, the assignment keeps circling back to friendship, professional envy, stalled relationships, and the awkward gap between how these two men see themselves and how they come across.
