Big River Man

Documentary100 min

Slovenian endurance swimmer Martin Strel sets out to cover 3,375 miles of the Amazon River in a feat billed as the world’s longest swim. The film stays close to the 2007 attempt as the river itself becomes the central obstacle: a vast, unpredictable route that turns an endurance stunt into a test of logistics, nerves, and survival. Borut Strel is among the people around Martin as the swim unfolds, with Matthew Mohlke also appearing on the journey. Rather than broad biography, the focus stays on the day-to-day push down the Amazon and the mounting strain of trying to cross it under human power alone.
