Twenty-six years after escaping a suspiciously familiar masked killer, the Core Four are back in the crosshairs when another murder spree collides with every trend in modern horror. Anna Faris’s Cindy and Regina Hall’s Brenda reunite as the film turns its attention to reboots, remakes, requels, origin stories, and “final chapters” that never stay final. Returning faces from the earlier movies mix with newer arrivals while the usual slasher setup gets buried under pop-culture references, slapstick chaos, and jokes aimed at horror franchises that keep coming back from the dead.
