Ranvir Shorey is a struggling actor whose luck turns strange when the police recruit him to impersonate a gangster who looks exactly like him. What starts as an odd job for a small-time performer quickly becomes a tangle of cops, criminals, and a borrowed identity he can’t easily step out of. Neha Dhupia and Naseeruddin Shah join the ensemble around him as the story moves through underworld intrigue, dry comedy, and the uneasy overlap between acting and survival. In Hindi and set in a world of hustlers and authority figures, Mithya builds its premise around a man forced to perform far beyond the stage.
