Melinda and Melinda
ComedyDramaRomance99 min
At a dinner in Manhattan, two writers argue over whether life is fundamentally comic or tragic, and each begins telling the same story in a different key. In both versions, Melinda arrives in the lives of people she barely knows, bringing old wounds, romantic complications, and sudden disorder with her. One thread turns her entrance into a chain of awkward affairs, jealousies, and near-farcical misunderstandings; the other follows the damage her instability and longing leave in its wake. As the parallel stories unfold side by side, Radha Mitchell’s Melinda becomes the test case for how the same desires and mistakes can tip toward heartbreak or comedy.
