Twenty years after his only hit, Roman musician Romeo turns to a fortuneteller, who tells him love and money are waiting with a foreign singer named for a flower. Carlo Verdone is Romeo, drifting through Brussels in search of that prophecy, first meeting an older chanteuse devoted to Jacques Brel before colliding with Claudia Gerini’s Iris Blond, a young waitress, poet, and singer with a fiercely independent streak. When Romeo starts putting her words to music, the pair build an act together, but their arrangement quickly blurs the line between partnership and romance.
