The Steel Edge of Revenge
ActionAdventureDrama124 min
A reclusive rōnin, burdened by his role in an earlier atrocity, returns during Japan’s late Tokugawa period to stop a new massacre before it begins. Tetsuro Tanba is the guilt-struck swordsman at the center of the story, moving through a landscape of old loyalties and unfinished debts. Around him, Yoko Tsukasa and Ruriko Asaoka are among the people drawn into the violence closing in around him. Focused on a samurai warrior trying to atone before blood is spilled again, the film keeps its attention on revenge, remorse, and the cost of stepping back into a world he tried to leave behind.
