Michael Beck is Hunter, a loner roaming the lawless 21st-century wasteland left behind by the Oil Wars. After he pulls Corlie out of the hands of James Wainwright’s Straker, a former army commander who rules by force, Hunter escorts her to the small settlement of Clearwater, one of the few places still trying to live in peace. Their arrival makes the community a target, as Straker comes after Corlie and brings the violence of the open road to Clearwater’s doorstep. Fuel shortages, isolated outposts, and a post-nuclear landscape shape the stakes.
