Half a Loaf of Kung Fu
ActionAdventureComedy97 min
A young daydreamer steals the identity of a dead martial arts hero and gets swept into a fight between rival clans over a cache of famous kung fu artifacts. Jackie Chan is the overmatched student behind the bluff, trying to learn fast enough to pass as the feared Whip King while staying ahead of the escort company and the enemies circling it. Dean Shek and James Tien are among the many faces crowding the scheme, as the mix of mistaken identity, martial arts rivalries, and chase-driven action pushes the film toward the acrobatic slapstick style Chan would become known for.
