An unemployed man drifts from one bad fit to the next, turning every attempt at honest work into a fresh disaster. Desperate to keep going, he takes whatever job he can find, but each new position only creates more chaos as his clumsiness, misunderstandings, and harebrained fixes spiral out of control. What starts as a simple search for steady work becomes a chain of workplace catastrophes, with bosses losing patience and small problems growing into public scenes. Jerry Lewis leads the mayhem as a man who means well but can’t stay out of trouble, while Susan Oliver appears as one of the people caught in the fallout of his latest scheme.
