Paper Man
ComedyDrama110 min
Failed novelist Richard Dunne escapes to a Long Island beach town for the winter, hoping the quiet will cure his writer’s block. Jeff Daniels is Richard, a middle-aged man who hires Abby, a guarded local teenager, as a babysitter despite having no children; Emma Stone gives Abby a wary, sharp-edged presence as their unlikely friendship takes shape. Hovering over everything is Captain Excellent (Ryan Reynolds), Richard’s imaginary superhero companion since childhood, while Lisa Kudrow’s Claire, his long-suffering wife, looks on with mounting impatience.
