Byzantium
DramaFantasyHorrorThriller118 min
After arriving in an English seaside town, two mysterious women take refuge at a boarding house called the Byzantium and try to keep a secret that has followed them for 200 years. Saoirse Ronan is Eleanor, quiet and watchful, while Gemma Arterton’s Clara moves through town with a harder edge and a quicker instinct for survival. As locals begin to notice them, their hidden history as vampires starts to surface, bringing danger to anyone who gets too close. Neil Jordan gives the story a Gothic frame, with damp streets, faded rooms, and old rules pressing in on the present.
