Wayne Szalinski’s troublesome invention backfires on him when he, his brother, and their wives are accidentally shrunk inside the family home, while their children assume the adults have simply disappeared. Rick Moranis is Wayne, the absent-minded inventor trying to undo the damage, with Eve Gordon’s Diane caught in the same miniature crisis. As the tiny parents work their way through oversized household obstacles, the kids settle into a suddenly unsupervised weekend, unaware that every loud decision and improvised plan is happening right in front of their parents.
