Programmed to kill a scientist whose work could decide mankind’s future, a cyborg goes off-mission and ends up hiding out at a desert diner after the hit fails. Daniel Greene is the machine at the center of it, caught between his original orders and the people drawn into his escape. Around him, the film pulls in faces like George Eastman and John Saxon as the pursuit closes in. The setup mixes futuristic tech with rough-edged action, moving from assassination plot to roadside standoff with shootouts, hand-to-hand fights, and the threat of sudden violence always nearby.
