The Black Godfather
ActionAdventureCrimeThriller94 min
J.J. (Rod Perry) is a rising power in an African-American criminal organization that runs its neighborhood by its own code: robbery and murder are part of the business, but narcotics are off-limits. As he tightens his grip on local power, a white heroin cartel and Mafia operators move into the area, forcing J.J. to turn his operation toward stopping the drug trade. Don Chastain, Diane Sommerfield, and Jimmy Witherspoon are among the figures circling that conflict, as the film frames its gangland struggle around control of the streets and the damage drugs bring into the community.
