Song of Norway

DramaFamilyMusicalRomance142 min

Edvard Grieg sets out to create an authentic Norwegian music while struggling to establish himself after conservatory. Toralv Maurstad is the young composer, whose ambitions collide with money problems and a personal life that quickly turns complicated. Florence Henderson appears as Nina, the cousin Grieg controversially marries, while Christina Schollin’s Therese Berg, a former schoolmate from his past, reenters the picture as his career begins to shift. Drawing on Grieg’s early years, the film follows his push for recognition through romance, scandal, and concerts built around the music that would define his name.
