The Hiding Place

DocumentaryDramaWar150 min

In a watchmaker’s shop in pre-World War II Holland, two middle-aged sisters live a quiet life with their father until the Nazi occupation turns their home into a hiding place for Jewish refugees. Julie Harris and Jeannette Clift center the ten Boom family’s story as Corrie and Betsie risk everything to shelter those being hunted. What begins as small acts of resistance leads to arrest and imprisonment, where their Christian faith becomes a source of endurance under brutal conditions. Based on Corrie ten Boom’s autobiographical account, the film follows one family’s choices as war closes in around them.
