The search leads to Ichi, a repressed, manipulated killer whose attacks on rival gang members are as savage as they are bewildering. Nao Ômori’s Ichi moves through the feud as both predator and pawn, while Takashi Miike steers the story toward body horror, gang warfare, and psychological breakdown. As Kakihara closes in, the hunt pulls in feuding factions, handlers working behind the scenes, and a fixation on pain that keeps pushing the violence further.
