After a routine L.A. traffic stop turns into a career-wrecking disaster, police academy reject Earl Montgomery and suspended cop Hank Rafferty keep colliding in all the wrong places. Martin Lawrence is Earl, a fast-talking security guard with a talent for making trouble; Steve Zahn’s Hank is the mild, humiliated ex-LAPD officer who blames him for everything. Forced to work together at a private security company, the two end up chasing a smuggling operation while dodging actual cops, armed criminals, and each other’s nerves. Bill Duke and Colm Feore round out the supporting cast around the mismatched pair.
