The Foundling
ComedyDrama68 min
Lost in Moscow, little Natasha wanders from one encounter to the next, setting off a string of mix-ups as the adults around her become the butt of jokes she never means to make. Veronika Lebedeva is the child at the center, moving through the city with total seriousness while everyone else scrambles to keep up. Faina Ranevskaya is among the faces Natasha meets on her way home, as strangers and families alike reveal themselves in brief, funny exchanges. Made at the end of the 1930s in black and white, the film follows a child's accidental path through everyday Moscow.
