In postwar Japan’s black markets, ex-soldier Shozo Hirono is swept into a fight among rival yakuza factions as old loyalties splinter and new bosses rise. Bunta Sugawara is Hirono, navigating street deals, shifting allegiances, and the codes of a criminal world built in the wreckage of 1947 Kure City. Hiroki Matsukata is among the many gangsters, fixers, and would-be power brokers circling the same turf, giving the story a crowded, unstable sense of a mob war already in motion.
