The Forest of Wool and Steel
DramaRomance134 min
After hearing a piano tuned at his high school in rural Hokkaido, Naoki Tomura decides to leave the path he knows and join the instrument shop run by tuner Soichiro Itadori. Kento Yamazaki is Tomura, a quiet teenager whose ear for sound begins to sharpen as he learns the craft, meets veteran tuners, and works with clients whose lives revolve around their instruments. The story stays close to the small, exacting work of piano tuning, tracing Tomura’s early years in the trade as he learns how technique, patience, and careful listening can change both an instrument and the person sitting at it.
