ComedyDramaFantasyRomanceWar125 min
Each day in wartime spring, a milkman named Kosta rides a donkey across the front line, dodging bullets to deliver food to soldiers. Emir Kusturica is the man at the center, whose dangerous routine and plans for a peaceful future are shaken by the arrival of a mysterious Italian refugee; Monica Bellucci is the newcomer who pulls him into a forbidden romance. From village weddings to gunfire and pursuit, the story moves through a rural Balkan landscape where love, superstition and war keep colliding, with comedy and fantasy woven into the upheaval.
