After Gellert Grindelwald escapes imprisonment and begins gathering followers to elevate wizards above non-magical people, Newt Scamander is drawn back into the conflict by Albus Dumbledore. Eddie Redmayne’s Newt leaves behind his work with magical creatures for 1927 Paris, where former allies, old flames, and family ties are pulled into a widening divide. Jude Law is a younger Dumbledore, turning to the man who stopped Grindelwald once before, while Johnny Depp’s Grindelwald builds his movement in the open. As his influence spreads, loyalties inside the wizarding world begin to fracture.
