Daniel Auteuil is Victor, a disillusioned sixty-something whose marriage to Marianne (Fanny Ardant) is coming apart when an unusual company offers him the chance to revisit any era he chooses. Victor picks the week, 40 years earlier, when he first met the woman he still thinks of as the love of his life, stepping into an elaborate re-creation overseen by Antoine (Guillaume Canet). As the past is rebuilt around him, the story moves between marital regret, backstage artifice, and the lure of a memory polished by time.
