Hank Mitchell (Bill Paxton) thinks he sees a way out when he, his brother Jacob, and a friend find a crashed plane in the snowy woods of rural Minnesota with more than $4 million inside. The plan is to keep the money quiet until spring, but every choice tightens the pressure around the three men. Billy Bob Thornton gives Jacob a wary, off-balance presence, while Bridget Fonda's Sarah pushes Hank to think harder about what keeping the cash will cost. Sam Raimi directs as greed, suspicion, and family loyalty start turning against each other.
