A Series of Unfortunate Events

ActionAdventureComedyFamilyFantasy108 min

After a fire kills their parents, the Baudelaire children are sent to a distant relative who is after their inheritance. Jim Carrey is Count Olaf, a vain, scheming guardian who turns Violet, Klaus, and baby Sunny's new home into a trap. Emily Browning's Violet relies on her inventive streak, while Liam Aiken gives Klaus a bookish, wary presence as the siblings try to outthink the adults around them. With Jude Law narrating as Lemony Snicket, the film folds dark comedy into a gothic storybook world of crumbling mansions, shadowy libraries, and oddball caretakers.
