ComedyMusicalRomance100 min
At a Florida hotel, Elvis Presley is the heir to an oil fortune who swaps identities with a water-ski instructor to find out whether anyone will like him without the family money attached. What starts as a beachside masquerade quickly tangles romance, status, and ego as he tries to pass as an ordinary guy. Shelley Fabares and Bill Bixby join the mix-up around the resort’s parties, boats, and social pecking order, while the story folds in musical numbers alongside the mistaken-identity comedy. The setting stays firmly in 1960s coastal glamour: speedboats, swimwear, and a wealthy world he’s trying to slip out of.
