Seoul, 1979: after President Park’s assassination, martial law hardens into a struggle for control inside the South Korean military. Jung-min Hwang is Chun Doo-gwang, the Defense Security Commander rallying a circle of loyal officers for a coup, while Lee Tae-shin (Jung Woo-sung), head of the Capital Defense Command, refuses to let soldiers steer the nation’s politics. As senior commanders hesitate and the defense minister disappears, the standoff spreads through command posts, barracks, and city streets, turning one December night into a battle over who will command the army — and the country.
