After his younger brother’s death, Jaeden Martell is Bill, a Derry kid who spends the summer chasing clues to a string of child disappearances with the other misfits in his circle, the Losers Club. What starts with school bullies, grief, and whispered stories about the town’s past turns into something far worse when they cross paths with Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise, a clownlike presence that surfaces wherever their fears run deepest. Moving through basements, sewers, and an abandoned house, the film follows seven outcast kids as friendship and terror become tangled up in the same long Maine summer.
